Sedona Marathon

Wednesday, February 1st through Sunday, February 5th is gearing up to be a stellar week for Sedona. The Sedona Chamber of Commerce, along with Sedona businesses, community members and volunteers will welcome thousands of participants along with their families and friends, for a week long celebration including great food, entertainment, prizes and activities for all ages. With combined efforts from our community, we can make participants and their guests feel welcome in our small red rock paradise. 

The Sedona Marathon events are outlined below and the Chamber is expecting a record breaking amount of attendees! If you want to be reminded of the various Marathon Week activities text "marathon" to 77007, and we'll keep you in-the-know!

Friday, Feb. 3rd: Packet Pick-Up & Expo at Tlaquepaque from 9am-9pm

Packet pick-up is from 9am until 9pm at Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village in Calle Independencia. Come by and pick up your bibs, swag bags and t-shirt and you can enjoy wandering around the Mexican colonial village filled with shops, galleries and restaurants. The Expo will be held from 10am-6pm with clinics/presentations, a free Zumba class courtesy of Snap Fitness Sedona and a live broadcasting from the “Q” 102.9! Not to mention more than 20 exhibition booths.

Friday, Feb 3rd: 1st Friday Sedona Gallery Tour from 5-8pm

The 1st Friday Sedona Gallery Association Gallery Tour also takes place on Friday evening from 5-8pm and this year is an official marathon event. The free SGA Tour features wine, live music and a complimentary trolley that makes stops at all locations along the tour. The Sedona Trolley will be picking up and dropping off guests between Uptown, Tlaquepaque, Hillside, Hozho and the Elk’s Lodge for FREE!                                  

Friday, Feb. 3rd: Sedona Elks Lodge Pasta Dinner from 5-9pm

The Sedona Chamber of Commerce is proud to be hosting this year’s Pasta Dinner at the Sedona Elk’s Lodge. If you are participant in the marathon you can enjoy an all you can eat pasta dinner for $6, kids 16 and under for $5.50, and guests for $12.

Saturday, Feb 4th: Sedona Marathon Race Day starting at 8am

New! The race headquarters and start/finish line are located on Navoti drive behind the Sedona Medical Center. Race parking is located at the Sedona Cultural Park. The Sedona Marathon also has a FREE shuttle running from 5am-5pm. There will be four stops: Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, Uptown by the Matterhorn Inn, Sedona Rouge & Spa, and at City Hall. The shuttle is a great option to avoid parking traffic at the Sedona Cultural Park. Racers who are parking are encouraged to arrive at least 45 minutes early. 

New! We now have spectator bleachers set up at the start/finish line on Navoti Drive. Spectators can also come to cheer the race-course within city limits. If you can’t make it to the race, join us at Tlaquepaque's Calle Independencia for the Sedona Marathon Post-Race Awards Ceremony & Festivities featuring a Beer Garden hosted by Oak Creek Brewery, margaritas in the Plaza de Campana with El Rincon and music and dancing DJ’d by Shondra Jepperson. 

Saturday, Feb 4th: Awards Ceremony and Expo at Tlaquepaque from 3-5pm

The celebration begins at 3pm, with Awards starting at 4pm: First through third places for the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5K will be awarded during this event with great prize packages and special medals will be given out to winners of each age category. The 7th Annual Biggest Loser contest will be awarded, the prize for the best marathon Aid Station and the prize for the “Q” 102.9 best costume.

New! The Peak award is for the Half Marathon men’s and women’s runner that finishes first directly in the middle awarded by SGA, plus the middle male and female finisher in the Full Marathon will receive a prize from Southwest Inn. Another award is for the fastest male and female local resident in all four races awarded by El Rincon Restaurante. 

New! The Sedona Marathon will be awarding the Karen Livesay Founder’s Award. In honor of the woman who created this event 7 years ago.  Her inspirational story, dedication and enthusiasm for our community and a commitment to healthy living will be honored. All spectators, volunteers, race participants and friends of the Sedona Marathon are invited to attend this special ceremony and community party.
